A college girl's guide to fashion
Yup, it seems that Betty Who, the newest pop music star has two interests in life: Singing and fashion… And boy is she talented when it comes to both.
The artist recently released the single “Fire With Fire,” which has instantly become a red-hot song on the music scene.

In addition to a great beat, the song has what I consider “addictive lyrics” that will get stuck in your head all day long… All I can say is get ready to play this song on repeat. I promise you’ll love it.

Describe your style using three adjectives:
Comfortable, deliberate and always-evolving
Who is your fashion icon and why?
Probably Marilyn Monroe. She knew how to dress for her body, flaunted her curves and she always knew how to do “sexy” without doing “trashy”. It’s a fine line most women tip toe along and she seemed to get it right every time.
You wake up late. What’s your go-to outfit?
Well given it’s Autumn, I’d say my All Saints Damisi boots, my favourite pair of black jeans, a slouchy button up with a statement necklace (my favourite is one I bought from Anthropologie a few years ago) and either my vintage LL Bean olive green coat with the leather collar or my Burberry Trench. If it’s chilly enough, I’ll wear the oversized orange infinity scarf I knit a few years ago.
How is your concert apparel different from your everyday apparel?
Someone once said to me “If you’re going to be an artist, you better wake up every day and dress like a fucking artist”. I find these are pretty much words to live by. I like to dress every day like I could be asked to do a last minute concert and would feel comfortable going on stage.
Which style trend do you love right now?
I love graphic T-Shirts. Especially bright prints underneath other prints. I have this old Bob Dylan t-shirt that I love layering under blazers and other button ups.
Do you have a favorite designer? If so, who?
I love Marc Jacobs, not only because of his clothes but because he’s truly lived into what I think it means to be an artist. He doesn’t design clothes, he envisions a lifestyle. He tries new things and has evolved as a creator, learning along the way by trial and error. Plus he’s a beautiful man with beautiful tattoos. What’s not to love?
If you could go on a thousand-dollar shopping spree in one store, which store would it be?
Right now I think it would have to be All Saints. I discovered them a few years ago when I moved to the East Coast and fell in love. They do great basics and outerwear, and I would live in their cashmere for the rest of my life if I could.
Which decade’s fashion do you love most?
This decade. The beautiful thing about fashion (and possibly everything else) is how cyclical it is. We’re doing things that have never been done before but also drawing inspiration from fashion’s history. If I were to say the 50s (which is probably my second favourite), I wouldn’t be including how much I love skinny leather pants (thank you 1987).
Were you fashionable as a child? How would you describe your style back then?
